We opened our restaurant with our ancestors in 1985. We built our first pier by stacking sea stones with my father. At that time, there wasn’t any water in our village.
We used to row to Kekova Island with our wooden boat to get water, fill the tanks, and use that water for dishwashing, showering, and watering plants.
Finally, in 2000, we received a main water supply and a couple of years after opening our restaurant, we got electricity.
In those years, there were many octopuses, calamari, shrimps, etc., on our coasts, but we wouldn't hunt and cook them. Now, we have all of them and get daily fresh fish from our village’s fishermen.
We cook our fish on coal and wood fire. Our steamed foods are made with red peppers from the neighboring village, Kekova’s daphnes, oregano, and our vegetables come from the plateau side. Also, we get our salt from the sea.
Kaleköy’s most popular attractions are homemade ice cream, the castle, Priest Island, the sunken city, the coasts, and Rocktom, which is in the sea.
You can swim around Rocktom and catch fish. You can hire a kayak, speed boat tour, glass-bottom boat tour, take away and boat service food, airport service, St. Nicholas visit tour, and many more.
For sailors, we can take your rubbish, provide you with water and electricity for a fee, and you can get fresh bread every morning.
Our family restaurant invites you to our Mediterranean cuisine in Kaleköy. We are sure that you will feel at home.
